As far as the Milanese road system is concerned, please always consult the details of the route you are going to take. In the city, it is always a good idea to get traffic news, plan your parking in advance, and find out about the Limited Traffic Zones (ZTL), particularly regarding areas B and C.
Area B has been active since 25 January 2019, and prohibits access to the most polluting vehicles and those longer than 12 metres. It does not require payment and is active from Monday to Friday, from 7.30 am to 7.30 pm, with access constantly monitored by cameras. Area C, on the other hand, covers the historic centre and requires payment for some vehicles, with free access for electric vehicles and some hybrids. The restrictions are valid on weekdays from 7.30 am to 7.30 pm.

Other ZTLs and pedestrian zones: include areas such as the Navigli, Arco della Pace, Corso Garibaldi and Via Paolo Sarpi, with specific access rules and established operating hours. Pedestrian zones have even stricter restrictions, forbidding transit to all vehicles, except for some very limited cases.
